Greene County nutrition program menu for March 4-8 released

The following is the weekly nutrition meal offered by the Greene County Department of Human Services’ Senior Nutrition Program from Monday, March 4, through Friday, March 8:

• Monday, March 4 — Sausage and peppers, oven-fried potatoes, green beans with mushrooms and vanilla mousse.

• Tuesday, March 5 — Chicken parmesan, pasta, Italian mixed vegetables, spinach and pears.

• Wednesday, March 6 — Salmon with dill sauce, rice pilaf, Normandy mixed vegetables and a brownie.

• Thursday, March 7 — Pulled pork, baked beans, collard greens, coleslaw and apple crisp.

• Friday, March 8 — Beef and peppers, beet salad, sweet potato and fresh fruit.

Served daily with each meal are: Bread or alternativ­e (roll, bun, etc.) with Promise Spread, low-fat milk, coffee or tea. Tartar sauce is served with fish meals.

All persons over 60 (and spouses) are invited to attend. The suggested donation for each meal is $4.

The menu will be the meal that is delivered to all Greene County homebound meal clients. Additional­ly, it will be served at the county’s Rivertown Senior Center, 39 Second St., Athens, as well as the senior service centers in Acra, Jewett, Catskill and Coxsacke. Those wishing to receive lunch at a center are required to call the respective location at least a day in advance. The number for the Rivertown center is (518) 945-7200.
