Senior groups list meeting schedules

WOODSTOCK, N.Y. >> The Woodstock Senior Citizens Club will meet Wednesday, July 17, at noon at Woodstock Fire Co. No. 1 on Route 212.

The club will be having its annual picnic.

PORT EWEN. N.Y. >> The Town of Esopus Seniors will meet Monday, July 15, at 1 p.m. in the Esopus Town Hall Community Center, 284 Broadway.

The speaker will be from MVP Healthcare speaking on the topic “Health Foods That Aren’t.” The talk will provide tips to figure out truth from the hype and advertising of the health food industry.

The bus for the soldout trip to the Westchester Broadway Theater on Wednesday, July 17, will leave at 9 a.m. Only people with paid reservations may attend.

There are still seats available for the Lake George trip, which will take place Tuesday, Aug. 13. Payment for that trip will be collected during the meeting.

PORT EWEN, N.Y. >> Kingston AARP Chapter No. 2039 will have a picnic lunch on Wednesday, July 24, at noon at George Freer Park, Canal Street.

Those planning to attend are asked to bring their own drinks. Call Helen at (845) 339-4611 for reservations.

There will be an auction to benefit the group’s scholarship program. Please bring a $5 wrapped gift. This year, the group was able to award scholarships to two Kingston High School graduates and two John A. Coleman Catholic High School graduates.

The group will not meet in August. The next board meeting will be Friday, Sept. 6, at 1 p.m. at Esopus Town Hall, 284 Broadway.

A trip to Lancaster, Pa., from Oct. 22 through 24 is planned. The cost is $450 per person, double occupancy; $550 per person, single occupancy; and $441 per person, triple occupancy. A $100 deposit is required upon signing up.

The trip includes transportation by Motor Coach, two nights at the Fulton Steamboat Inn, two family-style breakfasts at the inn, two dinners, a guided tour of Longwood Gardens, Bird In Hand Luncheon Theater and more.

The bus will leave Kingston Plaza on Oct. 22 at 8 a.m. at the end of Hannaford Supermarket.
