The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
Catskill
• Drugs: Alejandro Leon, 29, of Leeds, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 4:56 p.m. Thursday, July 18, on Place Road and was charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), four misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and two misdemeanor counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Leon was arraigned in Catskill Town Court and held without bail pending a court appearance.
• DWAI-drugs: Fatima Abuzahrieh, 42, of Climax, was arrested by Catskill Police at 1:51 p.m. Thursday, July 11, on U.S. Route 9W and was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor. She was released with a ticket to appear in Catskill Town Court.
• Contempt: Jeannette Westlake, 22, of Catskill, was arrested by Catskill Police at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at the Albany County Sheriff’s Office in Albany, and was charged with criminal contempt for violating a court order of protection, a felony; criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, and harassment, a violation. Westlake was arraigned and jailed in lieu of $3,000 cash bail pending a court appearance.
• Weapon: Patrick J. Maurer, 21, of Catskill, was arrested by Catskill Police at 10:06 p.m. Friday, July 12, on Central Avenue and was charged with criminal
possession of a weapon, a felony; and with assault, reckless endangerment, acting in a manner injurious to a child and unlawful imprisonment, all misdemeanors. Maurer was released pending an appearance in Catskill Town Court.
• Injurious to a child: Monique A. Rivera, 19, of Hudson, was arrested by Catskill Police at 12:14 a.m. Saturday, July 13, on Main Street and was charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child, a misdemeanor. She was released with a ticket for Catskill Town Court.
• Assault: Unique G. Norfleet, 22, of Catskill, was arrested by Catskill Police at 5:05 a.m. Sunday, July 14, on Thompson Street and was charged with assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, criminal mischief, and unlawful imprisonment, all misdemeanors. He was arraigned and released after posting $200 cash bail pending a court appearance.
Esopus
• Burglary: Nicholas Ronzano, 28, of Esopus, was arrested by state police at Highland at 9:03 p.m. Thursday, July 18, on Floyd Ackert Road and was charged with burglary, a felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and having a controlled substance in a non-original container, a violation. He was arraigned in Esopus Town Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail, pending a court appearance.
Lloyd
• DWI: Kenneth M. Puig, 29, of Highland, was arrested by state police at Highland at 4:20 a.m. Friday, July 19, on U.S. Route 9W and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood alcohol level exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeanors. He was released with tickets to appear in Lloyd Town Court.
Rhinebeck
• Contempt: Xavier Christensenmulhern, 22, of Rhinebeck, was arrested by state police at Rhinebeck at 1:58 a.m. Monday, July 15, and was charged with criminal contempt for disobeying a court order and criminal obstruction of breathing, both misdemeanors; and harassment, a violation. He was arraigned in Rhinebeck Town Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail pending a court appearance.
