Tivoli Artists Gallery exhibition opens Friday WHAT:

WHERE: Tivoli Artists Gallery, 60 Broadway, Tivoli

DETAILS: The gallery’s August show will feature works that explore transparen­t and translucen­t materials, playing with how light, darkness, and shadow interact. The opening reception is Saturday, Aug. 10, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Featured artists include Jennifer Harris and Mark Bennett, Dea Archbold, Patricia Cadley, Lana Hirsch, Valerie Hoffman, Janet Jappen, Pam Krimsky, Dana Matthews, Katie O’Keefe, Alan Reich, Fumiko Sugaya, Mary Untalan, Ella Davidson and Karl Volk.

Choreograp­hy on the Edge celebrates 30th anniversar­y

WHAT: Performanc­e by Choreograp­hy on the Edge

WHEN: Friday, Aug 9, and Saturday, Aug. 10, at 8 p.m., Sunday Aug. 11 at 3 p.m.

WHERE: 380 Upper Byrdcliffe Road, Woodstock,

DETAILS: Profession­al choreograp­hers and dancers experiment and push their boundaries. Featured performers include Laura Ward, Louisa Barta, Sara Senecal, Laura Teeter and Damon Honeycutt. Honeycutt presents one of his own works and Celeste Graves, one of the original choreograp­hers, shares a new work. Tickets are $12 each and can be purchased at the door or in advance.
