DeForest wins Wiltwyck YMCA Pro-Am in playoff

Andrew DeForest won the 42nd Annual Wiltwyck YMCA Pro-Am Tournament Monday, defeating Matt Dobyns in a playoff.

Andrew DeForest won the 42nd Annual Wiltwyck YMCA Pro-Am Tournament Monday, defeating Matt Dobyns in a playoff.

DeForest, now a Wiltwyck member, and Dobyns, a pro at the Meadow Brook Club in Jericho, both shot 3-under 69s to tie for first. DeForest won on the first playoff hole to net the $3,000 first prize. Dobyns took home $1,500.

Justin Hearley of Normanside Country Club in Delmar was third overall with a 1-under 71 to earn $1,000. Alex Beach of the Westchester Country Club got $800 for a fourthplace 72. Bob Cain from Saratoga National pocketed $550 for his fifth-place 73.

Twaalfskill pro Jeff Schaller Jr., Joe Condomitti (Tuxedo Country Club), Tom Sutter (Five Iron Golf in New York), Kevin Riley (Mansion Ridge), Bill Van Orman (Meadow Brook) and James Becker (Blue Fox Run) all shot 76s to tied at sixth. Each earned $175.

DeForest’s squad that included Andy Occhi, Steve Owens and Ed Moldanado won the team championship with a 126. Each player got $400.

The team led by Lochmor’s Mike Decker was second at 130.
