A former town of Rochester man faces up to 7 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to course of sexual conduct against a child, a felony, in Ulster County Court on Wednesday, Aug. 14, in connection with sexual conduct with two children and endangerment of a teen that occurred between 2014 and 2018, according to Ulster County District Attorney Holley Carnright.

Carnright said in a news release that Michael Park, 40, admitted between Sept. 1, 2014 and June 30, 2018 he engaged in sexual acts with two different children under the age of 13. Park additionally engaged in the endangerment of the two children and a teen under the age of 17 years old, Carnright said.

“This man was brought to justice by the courage of the young victims who came forward and reported to a parent what he had done,” Carnright said in the release. “This was the first case handled by an investigator new to our office with an extensive background in computer crimes. His expertise enabled us to develop evidence which offers compelling corroboration of the victims’ disclosures.”

Carnright said Park was arrested on Oct. 19, 2018, following and investigation by the Ulster County Family and Child Advocacy Center.

Park was indicted by an Ulster County Grand Jury on April 5, 2019, and was charged with one count each of course of sexual conduct against a child, one count of sexual abuse, all felonies, four counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child, also felonies, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors, Carnright said.
