Music industry workshop in Catskill on Oct. 24
WHAT: Music industry workshop WHEN: Thursday, Oct. 24, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. WHERE: CREATE’s Catskill Gallery, 398 Main St., Catskill
DETAILS: PLANET ARTS and the Council for Resources to Enrich the Arts, Technology & Education (formerly the Greene County Council on the Arts) present a free Music Industry Workshop that is open to the public. This workshop focuses on getting music on broadcast and internet radio and getting projects in the eyes of print publications. Special guest Jay Hunter, a DJ and print/internet journalist, provides insight on how to present music to various radio outlets and will offer advice to musicians on getting projects noticed and reviewed.

Poets will give readings at Lace Mill in Kingston
WHAT: Poetry reading WHEN: Thursday, Oct. 17, from 7 to 9 p.m.
WHERE: The Lace Mill, 165 Cornell St., Kingston
DETAILS: Matt) Spireng, a lifelong resident of Lomontville, is a widely published award-winning poet. More than 1,000 of his poems have appeared in magazines and anthologies across the United States since 1990. Philip Pardi is the author of “Meditations on Rising and Falling,” which won the 2008 Brittingham Prize and the 2009 Writers’ League of Texas Poetry Award. His poems, essays and translations have appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies.
