Unbeaten Mount Academy sweeps Ellenville, now 13-0

ELLENVILLE, N.Y. » Mount Academy’s unbeaten volleyball team is now 13-0 after sweeping Ellenville in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League match Tuesday.

The Eagles beat Ellenville 25-10, 25-13, 25-14 behind the play of Kaitlyn Arnold (21 assists, three digs), Vera Tietze (six kills, two blocks), Maura Maendel (five kills, four digs, one block), Cayla Boller (four kills, eight aces) and Alyssa Meier (four kills, three digs, two blocks).

Wallkill 3, Highland 0

At Highland, Wallkill improved its league record to 9-0 with a 25-13, 25-9, 25-14 sweep of the Huskies. Emma Secor distributed 37 assists and had two digs to key big efforts by Colleen Romero (15 kills, three aces, two digs) and Madison Dembroski (12 kills, 13 digs).

Olivia Bell and Paige Dauenheimer each had four kills and two blocks and Maddy Garside dished out five assists for Highland (4-7).

New Paltz 3, Marlboro 1

At New Paltz, Francheska Geminiano (15 kills, six blocks), Jordan Giancola (14 kills, 10 digs, two aces), Maddy Brooks (eight kills, two aces) and Lauren Thompson (17 digs, five aces, one kill, one assist) powered the Huguenots to a 25-23, 23-25, 2513, 25-18 triumph over Marlboro.

Kaitlyn Tudico (six kills, nine digs, four aces), Maddi Callahan (four kills, three blocks) and Leah Heimink (10 digs, one assist) paced Marlboro.

Roosevelt 3, Saugerties 1

At Saugerties, Roosevelt turned back Saugerties 2519, 25-19, 24-26, 25-13 behind big performances from Allison Villalobos (20 kills, 23 digs, one ace), Gianna Felipe (46 assists, seven digs, two aces), Aaliyah Williams (five kills, three blocks, seved digs, five aces) and Maddie McKenna (six kills). The Presidents are now 6-7 overall and 4-4 in the MHAL.

Christie Collins (14 kills, eight digs, one ace), Lexi Sasso (seven kills, one block, one ace), Lacey Schatzel (seven kills, five digs, one ace) and Sarah Villafane (17 assists) led Saugerties (4-7 overall).

Red Hook 3, Rondout 0

At Red Hook, Maddie Boucher (nine kills, one block, eight aces), Ashley Vosburgh (four kills, three aces) and Sadie Kubsch (three kills, two aces) carried Red Hook to a 25-16, 25-14, 26-24 sweep.

Anna Decker (10 kills, two digs), Stella Raponi (five kills, one assist), Lauren Parete (16 assists, three digs), Gigi Koch (20 digs), Queenie Yang (11 digs, two kills, two aces) and Brooke Helmich (two kills, three aces) guided Rondout Valley (1-11).
