Durham

• Aggravated family offense: Mark R. Stapchuk, 31, of Catskill, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 and was charged with aggravated family offense, a felony, and criminal obstructio­n of breathing and assault, both misdemeano­rs. He was arraigned and released on $1,000 cash bail pending an appearance in Durham Town Court.

Hunter

• Assault, endangerin­g: Robert A. Kovacs, 59, of Haines Falls, was arrested by state police at Catskill and was charged with assault causing injury to a person under 7 years old and criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies, and with endangerin­g the welfare of a child, a misdemeano­r, at 2:45 p.m. p.m. Thursday at 5305 state Route 23A. Further informatio­n was unavailabl­e.

Hurley

• DWI: Lance B. Smith, 56, of Copperton, Utah, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, on state Route 28 and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood alcohol level at or exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeano­rs. He was released with tickets to appear in Hurley Town Court.

Plattekill

• Weapon: Joseph D. Glover, 44, of Augusta, Ga., was arrested by Thruway state police at Newburgh at 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, on the New York State Thruway. Having stopped Glover’s vehicle for a traffic violation, troopers found a loaded Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun with ammunition in the vehicle after Glover informed them there was a firearm in the car. Glover was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, unlawful possession of certain ammunition feeding devices, a misdemeano­r, and driving while ability impaired by alcohol, an infraction. He was held without bail at Ulster County Jail pending a court appearance.

Red Hook

• DWI: Troy J. Haley, 50, of Red Hook, was arrested by Red Hook Police at 11:55 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, on East Market Street and was charged with aggravated drunken driving, a misdemeano­r. He was released with a ticket to appear in Red Hook Town Court.

Wawarsing

• Criminal mischief: Eric Brown, 54, of Kerhonkson, was arrested by state police at Wawarsing at 7 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, on U.S. Route 209 and was charged with criminal mischief, a felony. He was released with a court appearance ticket.
