AARP driver safety class in Lake Katrine on Nov. 2

LAKE KATRINE, N.Y. >> An AARP driver safety class will take place Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Russell F. Brott Senior Center, 1 Town Hall Drive.

Sign is at 8:30 a.m., with the class starting at 9 a.m. The class is designed to go six hours, but could go longer.

Successful completion of the course qualifies attendees for reductions on their insurance rates and points off their driver’s licenses.

This will be the last class of the year in the Kingston area. The fee is $25, $20 for AARP members with a card. The class is open to all. There are no age or membership requiremen­ts. Seating is very limited.

Preregistr­ation is required. Call (845) 339-7885 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays to register.

Space permitting, walkins will be accommodat­ed. Walk-ins should arrive by 8:30 a.m.

Rides to polls on Election Day available in Red Hook

available to seniors who need transporta­tion to vote on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. through the Red Hook Public Library.

Call the library at (845) 758-3241 and a free, nonpartisa­n ride will be available. Registrati­on is required, and rides will be confirmed the night before.
