- Freeman staff

Seven area football teams will close out their regular season this week with a slew of crossover games.

Two of the contests are scheduled for Wednesday with Kingston playing at Warwick with a 4:30 p.m. kickoff, while Red Hook is home to Saugerties at 7. On Thursday Roosevelt will play host to Rondout Valley at 4 p.m.

There are two more games Friday with Wallkill hosting Liberty at 6 and Onteora traveling to Sullivan West for a game at 7.

Kingston at Warwick

Kingston (3-5) have been outscored 89-0 in their last two games against Newburgh and Pine Bush, but the Tigers can finish with their best record in seven years with a win over Warwick (2-6). The Class A Wildcats have lost three in a row and managed just 20 points during that stretch.

Rondout at Roosevelt

Roosevelt was 0-7 before Monticello forfeited last week’s game. The Class A Presidents try to close out the season with a win on the field against Class B Rondout. The Ganders (2-6) got out to a quick 14-0 lead last Saturday, but Dobbs Ferry rallied for a 19-14 triumph.

Saugerties at Red Hook

The Class A Sawyers play the Class B Raiders under the lights in their season finales. Both teams are 2-6. Red Hook beat O’Neill 20-14, while Saugerties lost to Valley Central 21-8.

Liberty at Wallkill

Class A Wallkill is home to Class B Liberty in a matchup of 4-4 squads. The Panthers were shut out 48-0 by Marlboro, then lost 43-13 to New Paltz in the A quarterfinals. Liberty is coming off a 35-0 loss to John S. Burke Catholic.

Onteora at Sullivan West

Onteora (3-4) looks to end its first season in 8-man football with a three-game winning streak and finish at .500. Sullivan West was eliminated by Pine Plains/Rhinebeck in last week’s quarterfinals.
