Town of Ulster

• Welfare fraud: Maria Whitbeck, 54, of Kingston was arrested Tuesday, Oct. 29, by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies on felony charges of welfare fraud, grand larceny, and four counts of offering a false instrument for filing. The Ulster County District Attorney’s Office said an investigat­ion showed that between September 2017 and September 2019, Whitbeck filed four recertific­ations with the Ulster County Department of Social Services, not disclosing that she was receiving Social Security Income. The result was that she received

$4,146 in SNAP benefits she was not entitled to, the District Attorney’s Office said. Whitbeck was released on tickets to appear in Ulster Town Court.

• Welfare fraud: Stacey Jacobs, 37, of Pine Hill was arrested Wednesday, Oct. 9, by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies on misdemeano­r charges of welfare fraud and two counts of misuse of food stamps. The Ulster

County District Attorney’s Office said an investigat­ion showed Jacobs had accessed SNAP benefits of an incarcerat­ed person between March and April 2019, obtaining $384.60 in benefits that did not belong to her. She was released on tickets to appear in Ulster Town Court.

• Welfare fraud: Alida Brown, 35, of Kingston was arrested Wednesday, Oct. 9, by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies on a felony charge of offering a false instrument for filing and the misdemeano­r of attempted welfare fraud. The Ulster County District Attorney’s Office said an investigat­ion showed Brown had submitted falsified income and employment records to the Ulster County Department of Social Services for eligibilit­y for SNAP benefits.

She was released on tickets to appear in Ulster Town Court.

• DWI: Bradford T. Sauve, 42, of Manlius was arrested at 2:53 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, on Route 44⁄55 by state police at Highland on a misdemeano­r charge of drunken driving. He was released on tickets to appear in Lloyd Town Court.
