MONTGOMERY, N.Y. >> Unbeaten Kingston High registered a sixth consecutive boys basketball victory Friday night, rolling to a 9140 triumph over Valley Central.

Shy’quan Royal had a doubledouble to lead the Tigers, scoring 18 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, dishing out four assists and making seven steals. He tallied 18 of his points in the first half as the Tigers stormed to a 44-21 halftime advantage.

Kingston took control with a 30-10 first quarter.

“We just subbed very liberally and get everybody a lot of minutes and went after it,” Kingston coach Ron Kelder said. “It was more or less us getting to the rim a little more. We just got out, just defended and got some easy buckets. We took the sails out of them early. We came out in the second half, executed pretty well and shot the heck out of it.

“It was solid all the way through,” he added.

Clayton Pattillo led the way in the second half, netting 16 of his 19 points. He hit three of his five 3-point field goals in the third quarter. Dylan Perry had 11 points overall for Kingston

The Tigers also got solid outings on the board with Chapman Parker posting a season-best 11

points and eight rebounds, while Chris Whitaker had four points, seven rebounds and a block. Parker was first off the bench and scored eight points in four minutes.

All 11 Kingston players scored in the game. Brady Short had nine points, ShaCorey Jones chipped in with four points, five assists and a couple of steals. Daiveyon Jackson and Kaeshawn Brodhead also had four points, while Ameer Rolle scored three and

Dustin Knox two. Notably, all Tigers made at least one field goal.

“It’s a harder game to coach than the close ones,” Kelder admitted. “We were just trying to stay healthy and get out of there. Shy probably played 11 or 12 minutes max. Brady probably played 14 max.”

Kingston bids for 7-0 on Monday when they take on Warwick in a Monday matinee makeup home game — only the Tigers’ second contest at Kate Walton Field House this season. The junior varsity game is scheduled for noon with the varsity to follow at approximately 1:30 p.m.
