Freeman Holiday Fund has raised $3,820
The Freeman’s 2019 Holiday Fund drive raised $3,820 through Friday, Dec. 20.
Money donated during the annual drive, which runs through Christmas, is given to five area organizations that help the needy: The People’s Place in Kingston; Family; and the Community Action programs in Ulster, Dutchess and Greene counties.
All administrative costs for the fund are paid by the Freeman.
This is the fund’s 43rd year. It was begun in 1977 and raised a total of $579,662 though last year. The 2018 donations totaled $9,085.
The Holiday Fund welcomes monetary donations large and small. They should be mailed to Holiday Fund, Daily Freeman, 79 Hurley Ave., Kingston, N.Y. 12401. Contributors’ names will be published periodically, though requests for anonymity will be honored.
