Circle of Friends for the Dying’s Death Café on Dec. 28
WHAT: Death Café WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 28, from 10 a.m. to noon WHERE: Ellenville Public Library, 40 Center St., Ellenville
DETAILS: Circle of Friends for the Dying hosts its last Death Café of the year. Come to the library to meet with old friends and new to cap off the holiday season and bring forth a powerful new year. Each conversation is preceded with a brief presentation to expand participants’ understanding of different topics related to dying and death. Death Café has no theme and is not a grief support group. Come mingle and enjoy cakes, coffee and tea. No fee, though donations for future gatherings are greatly appreciated.

Washington’s Headquarters offers cabin fever cure
WHAT: Program, “A Cure for Cabin Fever”
WHEN: Friday and Saturday, Dec. 27 and 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
WHERE: Washington’s Headquarters State Historic Site, 84 Liberty St., Newburgh
DETAILS: Escape the holiday bustle and tour General George Washington’s headquarters, visit our Museum, make a whirligig (an 18th century toy), and tour the Tower of Victory. (Access to the Tower may be limited based on staffing and weather conditions). Everything is included in the price of admission. Adults: $4, Seniors/Students: $3, Children 12 and under are free.
