Modfest starts Jan. 30 at Vassar College
WHAT: Modfest WHEN: Thursday, Jan. 30, through Sunday, Feb. 9
WHERE: Vassar College, Raymond Avenue, 124 Raymond Ave., Poughkeepsie
DETAILS: Modfest will feature performances by Tony Award-winning actress Celia Keenan-Bolger, the Grammy Award-nominated vocal ensemble New York Polyphony, and members of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic. Keenan-Bolger will share stories about Broadway, acting and art at the Martel Theater on Feb. 1 at 3 p.m. New York Polyphony presents a concert on Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. at Skinner Hall and Modfest closes Feb. 9 with a concert by members of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic at 3 p.m. also in Skinner Hall. ZviDance performs ‘MAIM’ in Tannersville
WHAT: Performance of “MAIM” WHEN: Saturday, Jan. 18, at 8 p.m. WHERE: Orpheum Film & Performing Arts Center, 6050 Main St., Tannersville
DETAILS: ZviDance, a collaborative alliance among artists, brings its audiences a vision of community in a modern age. MAIM’s creative process began during a threeweek residency in Catskill, hosted and commissioned by Lumberyard in January 2019. MAIM seeks to raise awareness of the world’s diminishing water resources due to global warming. Advance tickets are $25, $20 for seniorsand $7 for children/ students. Tickets at the door are $30, $25 for seniors and $7 for children/students.
