Tivoli Artists Gallery opens new year with new works
Tivoli Artists Gallery’s latest show, “NEW YEAR | NEW WORKS,” celebrates a brand new decade and the presentation of new ideas. The exhibition runs from Friday, Jan. 17, through Sunday, Feb. 9.
The exhibit features a mix of work from the gallery’s member artists, including paintings, prints, mixed media, sculpture, photography and more. The artists will show recently completed work or work they’ve never shown at the gallery before.
“The discipline of creating new work can be exciting and challenging,” Alan Reich, the show’s curator, said in a press release. “We like to think of this show as an opportunity for artists to start the new year, and in this case the new decade, with inspiring and innovative work that is being seen for the first time.
“The month of January can be quiet in the Hudson Valley. But our gallery is open and a wonderful destination to experience art and grab a drink or bite in Tivoli along the way.”
Reich himself will present a series of new photographs. The release said his photographs will feature his “trademark use of contemporary composition, bold colors and implied storytelling.”
Other featured artists include gallery members Ania Aldrich, Marie Cole, Peggy Farrington, Lana Hirsch, Andrew Marchisio, Gilbert Rios, Fumiko Sugaya, Karl Volk and Maria Kolodziej-Zincio.
An opening reception, complete with wine and snacks and a chance to meet the artists, will take place Saturday, Jan. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Tivoli Artists Gallery is located at 60 Broadway, Tivoli. Gallery hours are Fridays from 5 to 8:30 p.m.; Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. or by appointment.
