UPAC welcomes back percussion act STOMP

WHAT: STOMP WHEN: Thursday, May 7, at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale to members Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. and to the general public Jan. 30 at 11 a.m.

WHERE: Ulster Performing Arts Center, 601 Broadway, Kingston

DETAILS: Created by Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas, the show has continued to change by creating new material. This year, it will incorporat­e two new pieces. The audience is guaranteed to never look at supermarke­t carts, plumbing fixtures, paint cans or kitchen sinks the same way. Tickets start at $39.

Repair Café takes place Feb. 1 in Woodstock

WHAT: Repair Café WHEN: Saurday, Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE: St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church, 2578 state Route 212, Woodstock.

DETAILS: At the Repair Café, volunteer repair coaches work on items while their owners stay to watch, sometimes assist and, ideally, to learn. They work on furniture of all types, small appliances, jewelry, clothing and knits, computers and electronic­s, wood items, mechanical and electrical items. They also sharpen knives and tools, and help with writing (sentence repairs). Free coffee and tea will be available or purchase baked treats or fruit.
