Pine Plains defeats Highland 75-65

Adam and Tyler Funk combined for 48 points to lead Pine Plains past Highland 75-65 in a nonleague game Tuesday.

Brothers Adam and Tyler Funk combined for 48 points to lead Pine Plains past Highland 75-65 in a non-league boys basketball game Tuesday.

Tyler Funk poured in 26 points, draining six three-pointers and going 4-for-6 at the line and Adam Funk scored 22 points, 12 of them coming off three-point baskets to the lead the way for the Bombers. Logan Lydon tacked on 10 points in the win.

Pine Plains rode a 20-11 first quarter and a 19-9 second to take a 39-20 lead at the half. The Huskies chipped away in the second half cutting the deficit to 13 at the end of third.

Zach Angelone scored 23 points and Ethan Thompson put up 20 to carry Highland.

Germantown 54, Rhinebeck 47

At Rhinebeck, The Hawks rallied from 12 down to tie things up in the second half, but came up short in a non-league contest with Germantown.

Rhinebeck tied the game at 40-40 and were only down 4844 with 3:10 remaining. But the Hawks hurt themselves by shooting 1-for-9 from 3-point range in that quarter.

Brandan Hines had 13 points, Aiden Aierstok scored 10 and Ben Fajardo added eight for Rhinebeck (3-10).

Brian Bathrick scored 17 points, Robbie Eaton tallied 14 and Jace Anderson had 13 as part of the Clippers’ balanced effort.

Rondout 60, Spackenkil­l 46

At Kyserike, Aaron Coston put up a double-double

(18 points, 10 rebounds) to lead the Ganders over the Spartans.

After a closely-contested first half Rondout Valley led by four points. The Ganders would eventually pull away with a 19-13 run in the third to go ahead 40-30 to key the win.

Marcus Ford scored 12 points, Dylan Dubitsky contribute­d 11, and Rasheen Smith added 10 to lead a balanced Rondout attack, while Eric Clearwater scored two points and grabbed six rebounds and Hayden Mutz finished the evening with two points and six blocks.

Jayden Bennermon scored 15 points, Jaylen Rouse had 14 and Derek Pomarico added 12 to pace the Spartans.

Onteora 58, Saugerties 44

At Boiceville, The Eagles prevailed over the Sawyers.

Jake Stern led the way for Onteora scoring 18 points, while Logan Holmquist added 16 and Zachary Fulford contribute­d 14.

Ethan Conrad and Dylan Norton each pitched in 11 points while Cade Lindhurst and John Toth both had six for Saugerties.
