Mardi Gras party on March 7 at Revel 32

WHAT: Mardi Gras party WHEN: Saturday, March 7, at 8 p.m.

WHERE: Revel 32, 32 Cannon St., Poughkeeps­ie

DETAILS: The Soul Rebels merge pop music on the radio with the New Orleans brass tradition they grew up on. They blend funk and soul with elements of hip hop, jazz and rock all within a brass band context. The band has built a career around live shows that harnesses the power of horns and drums in a funk party-like atmosphere. Also performing will be Brasskill. Founded in 2018, Brasskill has become the Hudson Valley’s party brass band. General admission tickets are $25 in advance and $30 the night of the show.

Tibetan Ritual Peace Dance performanc­e on March 8 in New Paltz

WHAT: Tibetan Ritual Peace Dance Performanc­e WHEN: Sunday, March 8, at 2 p.m.

WHERE: The Mountain Laurel Waldorf School, 16 S. Chestnut St., New Paltz

DETAILS: The Lingdro group of Western meditation students celebrate the Lunar New Year of the metal Rat with a dance performanc­e that focuses on stamping out negativity and stamping in bliss. Lingdro Dechen Rolmo (the Music of Great Bliss, which is a Dance of Ling) is a powerful moving meditation in which male and female dancers, colorfully garbed in brocade costumes, step, stamp, hop and whirl. Suggested donation is $10.
