Stream map event at Phoenicia Library on March 14
WHAT: Stream map event
WHEN: Saturday, March 14, from 12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m.
WHERE: Phoenicia Library, 48 Main St., Phoenicia
DETAILS: The Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program hosts its free annual stream map event. Maps are representations of the world in two dimensions and can help people understand the environment in new ways. They can also serve as works of art and historical artifacts. The program will have several different types of maps related to the Ashokan Watershed available for viewing. Educators will talk informally about different maps and the information they convey. Participants are welcome to bring a map of their own to share.

Food Network chef hosts Kingston Winter Farmers Market workshop

WHEN: Saturday, March 14, from noon to 1 p.m.
WHERE: Old Dutch Church, 272 Wall St., Kingston
DETAILS: The Kingston Farmers Market presents a cooking demonstration with Food Network chef Michele Ragussis. Ragussis, from Food Network’s “Beat Bobby Flay,” will demonstrate how to make quick and delicious Aussie-style meat and vegetable pies with ingredients from the market’s winter vendors.
