Numerous events in region canceled, postponed
The following is a list of Mid-Hudson Valley and Catskills cancellations, postponements and operational changes due to concerns about the coronavirus.
• Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan and Ulster’s annual Celebration of Charity and Caritas Awards Dinner has been postponed until Tuesday, June 9, at Anthony’s Pier 9 in New Windsor.
• The Anderson Center for Autism’s Community Field Day, scheduled for Saturday, April 18, in Rhinebeck, has been canceled.
• The Saugerties Pro Musica concert featuring the Ekstasis Piano & Cello Duo, scheduled for Sunday,
March 15, at the Saugerties United Methodist Church, has been canceled.
• The benefit fundraiser for Taylor Block scheduled for 7 p.m. March 13 at the Reformed Church of Saugerties has been postponed indefinitely.
• The Saugerties Democratic Committee has postponed its Thursday, March 26, forum with author Anne Nelson. No new date has been announced.
• The Woodstock School of Art, 2470 Route 212, Woodstock, has canceled the upcoming Student Exhibition 1 reception scheduled for Saturday, March 14, but the exhibition is on view through May 2.
• The Woodstock Artists
Association & Museum has canceled its upcoming opening reception scheduled for Saturday, March 14. The museum, at 28 Tinker St., Woodstock, remains open for now on Fridays and Saturdays, from noon to 6 p.m.; and Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from noon to 5 p.m. for now. • The Woodstock Farm Sanctuary in High Falls will not be opening in April, as has been customary, but expects to open May 3 for members and May 9 to the public. More info: woodstocksanctuary.org.
• The Kerhonkson Synagogue has canceled its Purim Party scheduled for Saturday,
March 14.
• Some nursing homes in Ulster and Dutchess counties have barred visitors.
• The Ulster County Jail has suspended visits to inmates.
• The 48th annual Hudson Valley Philharmonic string competition, scheduled for March 14-15 at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, has been canceled.
• Woodstock Bookfest 2020, scheduled for March 26-29, has been canceled.
• The town of Kingston has canceled its March 16 meeting about the proposed 850 Route 28 project.
