For some, a source of encouragement

The recent coronavirus pandemic is a disaster that is claiming the lives of many and causing widespread fear and panic. It is one thing to read about a disaster and another to live through one, which is the case for many people at this time.

This pandemic reminded me of an article published by Jehovah’s Witnesses on Dec.22, 2005, in Awake magazine, titled “Could It Happen Again?” This article was referencing the Spanish Flu, or influenza of 1918-19, however, there are great similarities occurring today with the coronavirus.

Just like the Spanish Flu, many people are losing their lives, including those who are deemed young and healthy, as a result of the coronavirus.

Did you know the Bible long ago provided information about pestilences we are seeing in our era? (Luke 21:11, Revelation 6:8). In Isaiah 46:10, the following is said about God: “From the beginning I foretell the outcome. And from long ago the things that have not yet been done.”

With these words in mind, Jehovah has lovingly provided information beneficial for saving the lives of mankind. On the website jw.org, there are two fascinating articles that are relevant to what is happening now. One is titled “Protect Yourself From Disease,” and “What is the Sign of The Last Days or End Times?”

I hope this letter will be informative and serve as a source of encouragement to some. Keep praying, for God will help us all through this difficult time.
