Area business people ‘On the Move’
John Klassen has joined Ulster Savings Bank as vice president of commercial lending.
Klassen, a Saugerties resident, will be headquartered at the bank’s 180 Schwenk Drive, Kingston, branch and will service the commercial lend- ing needs of customers throughout Ulster, Greene, Columbia and Northern Dutchess counties.
Before joining Ulster Savings Bank, he served as chief financial officer for New York Drilling Services, Inc. In addition, he has over 20 years of commercial banking experience that includes tailoring solutions for intergenerational family businesses in construction, distribution and manufacturing.
An active member of his community, he serves as a volunteer for the Columbia Memorial Hospital Foundation. He has also been a past volunteer for the Benedictine Health Foundation. A 1987 graduate of the Virginia Military Institute with a bachelor of arts degree in economics, he served as an officer in the US Army for five years.

Columbia Memorial Health announced the appointment of longtime community physician William “Billy” Murphy, to the organization’s Board of Trustees.
He began his term on June 22.
A graduate of the Georgetown Uni- versity School of Medicine, Murphy completed his residency in family medicine at the Williamsport Hospital and Medical Center in Williamsport, Pa., and completed a fellowship in rural family medicine at the Tacoma Family Medicine Residence program in Tacoma, Washington.
He has led CMH’s family practice in Chatham for more than 20 years.
••• Poughkeepsie-based Chazen Companies announced that William Orsborn has joined the company as its director of health and safety.
Orsborn has over 30 years’ experience providing health and safety expertise to a multitude of construction, industrial and institutional operations. He will be spearheading Chazen’s focus on driving a culture of health and safety, as well as conducting training programs and growing Chazen’s life safety business.
Orsborn received his bachelor of arts degree in business information analysis from Ohio State University. His credentials include certified safety profes- sional, con- struction health and safety technician, OSHA-authorized construction safety and health trainer, HAZWOPER certification, USACE EM 385 training certification and more.
