• Nearly all schools in the region are shifting to online instruction for the start of the 2020-21 academic year. Rondout Valley, Ellenville,

Red Hook and Wallkill became the most recent districts to put off plans that initially were to mix online and in-person classes. The Onteora school district also has announced that it will start the year online. Kingston, Saugerties, New Paltz and Pine Plains school districts previously announced that they would start classes remotely.

• Gyms and fitness centers can operate at 33% capacity, and with other restrictions.

• Bowling alleys can operate at 50% capacity.

• The Woodstock Film Festival will take place at drive-ins and through online streaming from Sept. 30 to Oct. 4. More info: woodstockfilmfestival.org.

• The 19th Annual Hudson Valley Wine & Food Festival, planned for Sept. 12 and 13 at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, has been canceled. A virtual festival will be held at eventhub.shop/2020-hudsonvalley-wine-food-fest.

• The Balsam Lake Mountain Fire Tower in Arkville has reopened its top cab to visitors.

• The Arts Society of Kingston is presenting a collaborative group exhibition from members and Poetry Barn titled “Poetic License.” The exhibition will run through Aug. 30 at askforarts.org.

• The Hooley on the Hudson, originally scheduled for Sept. 6 in Downtown Kingston, has been canceled.

• The Bronck Museum in Coxsackie has reopened for tours. Tour admission is $8. Reservations and payment must be made online at gchistory.org. Tours are offered at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays. Each tour will be offered to a maximum of six participants. Tour participants must completely cover their nose and mouth at all times, and obey social distancing. This is an outside walking tour; suitable clothing and shoes are recommended, and visitors must be able to walk or stand for at least 30 minutes.

• The inaugural Walkway One Mile – 10 1-mile races celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park – has been canceled. The event initially had been postponed until Saturday, Sept. 5, but is now scheduled to take place in 2021.

• The Kingston school district’s breakfast and lunch distribution will continue over the summer for students, Mondays through Fridays. Find pick-up locations and times at kingstoncityschools.org/meals.

• The Food Pantry at Trinity Lutheran Church, 72 Spring St., Kingston, is open Tuesdays by appointment by calling (845) 338-2954 (leave a message), and Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wear a mask to pick up a bag of groceries at the door.

• Kingston Point Beach is open at 50 percent capacity and has lifeguards on duty Wednesdays to Sundays each week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• The Ulster County Pool Complex in New Paltz will remain open until Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7. Hours of operation will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and occupancy will be limited to 325 people at any one time, It will be only open to county residents and guests. One swim lane will be available from 11 a.m. to noon. The CDC’s COVID-19 guidelines for pools must be followed at all times.

• The Belleayre Beach in Highmount is open, with reduced capacity, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Online: belleayre.com/ todo/belleayre-beach.

• Additional campgrounds in the Catskill Park have reopened to reservation holders for the 2020 season, including the Devils Tombstone Campground and Day-Use Area in Hunter, the Kenneth L. Wilson Campground and Day-Use Area in Mount Tremper, and the Mongaup Pond Campground and Day-Use area in Livingston Manor. DEC-controlled fire towers, with the exception of Sugar Hill, also have reopened.

• The Olana State Historic Site in Columbia County is resuming outdoor tours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The grounds are open daily from 8:30 a.m. to sunset. More info: olana. org.

• All county fairs in New York, as well as the State Fair, have been canceled.

• The Hudson Valley Garlic Festival, scheduled for Sept. 26-27 at Cantine Field in Saugerties, has been canceled.

• The Friends of Historic Saugerties has canceled its monthly local history lectures at the Saugerties Public Library for the rest of 2020.

• The Rosendale Library has begun curbside pickup. Holds can be placed at (845) 658-9013 or at rosendalelibrary.org. Print, fax, and copy service also will be available at curbside by appointment.

• The Hurley and West Hurley libraries have reopened. Patrons may browse the shelves, use the computers, fax materials and reserve items in an online catalog. Furniture has been rearranged for social distancing, and the libraries are offering hand sanitizer and wipes for computers. Returned books will be quarantined before re-entering circulation. All patrons must wear masks and maintain social distance, and each building is limiting capacity. Both libraries still are offering curbside borrowing, and e-books and streaming remain available.

• Hunter Mountain in Greene County has opened with a limited summer footprint focusing on mountain access and scenic lift rides.

• The city of Kingston’s playgrounds have reopened with health and safety rules.

• The Dutchess County Department of Motor Vehicles, 22 Market St., Poughkeepsie, has resumed in-person license, permits and non-driver ID transactions by appointment only. • Zoom Flume Water Park in East Durham in Greene County has canceled its 2020 season.

• The city of Poughkeepsie has reopened its parks and skate park.

• The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts has canceled all pavilion shows planned for the summer of 2020.

• The town of Ulster’s office and transfer station have reopened.

• Dutchess County Public Transit and Ulster County Area Transit have increased bus service. Go to bit.ly/busresume for details.

• Trailways of New York has resumed bus service between Kingston and New York City, though on a limited basis.

• The Athens Performing Arts Corporation has canceled its 2020 summer concert series in Athens Riverfront Park.

• County courts in Dutchess and Ulster have begun limited reopening. Court proceedings will continue to be done virtually.

• Opus 40 in Saugerties will be open Thursdays through Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. All guests (no more than five per group) must sign up in advance, and spend no more than two hours on site, to prevent overcrowding. No one will be allowed entry without advance signup, and all indoor spaces will remain closed. Staff will be on site during all open hours to ensure that guests are practicing physical distancing. • Mohonk Preserve has begun a phased reopening of its trails.

• The new Kingston Waterfront Farmers’ Market takes place at TR Gallo Park on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. • Maverick Concerts’ 105th chamber music festival in Woodstock, originally scheduled from June 27 to Sept.

13, 2020, is canceled.

• The launch of Vets-on-Water on the Hudson River, originally scheduled for June, has been postponed to Sept. 5.

• Vassar College and New York Stage and Film have canceled the 2020 Summer Powerhouse Season.

• The Town of Ulster Senior Club has suspended its scheduled meetings until further notice. The Town of Ulster Senior Center at 1 Town Hall Drive is closed. To provide meals and groceries to those in need across the Kingston

City School District, the Emergency Food hotline, (888) 316-0879, was created to streamline the intake of requests.

• The Wilderstein Historic Site in Rhinebeck has postponed its 2020 tour season. Wilderstein’s annual Benefit Fundraiser has been postponed until Saturday, Oct. 3. Other programming for 2020 is currently being evaluated. • In addition to the current closure of all public buildings at Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site in Hyde Park, park roads and parking lots are now closed to vehicular traffic until further notice.

• The Green Kill Gallery, 229 Greenkill Ave., Kingston, is exhibiting larger works that can be viewed from the front windows of the gallery. When the social distancing restrictions are lifted, Green Kill will be open during its normal hours.

• The Kingston Common Council is holding its meetings remotely. • The Legoland New York Resort in Goshen has postponed its opening until 2021.

• Performing Arts of Woodstock has canceled its 2020 season.

• The Lions Club Mini-Park located at South Parsonage Street and North Park Road in Rhinebeck is closed until further notice.

During the COVID-19 outbreak, New York state has temporarily expanded eligibility for the home-delivered meals program for seniors. • Unison’s theater and classroom space in New Paltz is closed.

• Catholic Charities Case Management Services, including the Housing Resource Center, remain available for assistance with emergency food and shelter, and other basic social safety net support. • CREATE (the Council for Resources to Enrich the Arts, Technology & Education) at the Greene County Council on the Arts, 398 Main St., Catskill, is closed to the public.

• The St. James Happy to Help Food Pantry said anyone needing emergency food can call (845) 331-3030 to arrange for pickups.

• The New Paltz Retired Men’s Group has temporarily suspended its monthly meetings.

• The Town of Ulster Senior Club has canceled all of its upcoming scheduled meetings. The Town of Ulster Senior Center is closed.

• The Clermont State Historic Site’s historic mansion and visitors center has not opened for the season for tours and events. The Chancellor’s Sheep and Wool Showcase has been canceled. The historic grounds and trails remain open daily from 8:30 a.m. to sunset. Parking fees are waived.

• The state police have suspended employment fingerprinting, along with child safety seat checks, at their stations.

• Hudson Valley Honor Flight has postponed two flights and its annual Lunch of Honor this fall.

• The Boys & Girls Club of Ulster County is operating at limited capacity.

• The FDR Library and Museum in Hyde Park is closed until further notice.

• The Bardavon in Poughkeepsie and the Ulster Performing Arts Center in Kingston are closed.

• Colony Woodstock has canceled events.

• Helsinki Hudson has closed the club and the restaurant and canceled events.

• The Upstate Films theaters in both Rhinebeck and Woodstock are closed.

• The Rosendale Cafe has canceled Salsa Thursdays until further notice.

• Swing dance classes by Linda and Chester Freeman in Clermont, Newburgh and Kingston, and the swing dance at White Hall in Kingston, are canceled.
