There have been 13 cases on campus this semester, though only four are currently active, the college says.

Two more SUNY New Paltz students have tested positive for COVID-19, the college announced Monday.

The students are on-campus residents, and they and their roommates are in quarantine, the college said on its website.

The students will stay in isolation until cleared by the Student Health Service. Isolation lasts for either 14 from exposure or 10 days from the onset of symptoms.

A total of 13 SUNY New Paltz students have tested positive for COVID-19 since the fall semester began Aug. 24, according to the college. Four of the cases remain active.

No employees of the college have tested positive.

SUNY New Paltz’s COVID issues have been minor compared to problems on some of the state university system’s other campuses. SUNY Oneonta was forced to switch to onlineonly instruction for the rest of the fall semester after nearly 400 students tested positive, and there also have been outbreaks on the SUNY campuses in Albany,’ Fredonia, Geneseo, Oswego

and Plattsburgh.
