SAUGERTIES-Nancy A. Speirs, 70, of Market St., passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021. Born Sept. 13, 1950 in Mount Vernon, N.Y. she was the daughter of the late Quentin and Genevieve Stafford of Mount Marion. Nancy grew up in Mount Marion, attending St. Mary of the Snow School and Saugerties Junior Senior High School, graduating in 1968. After meeting Tom and marrying in 1975, she devoted herself to her family. She was a wonderful wife and mother. As the friendlies­t waitress there was at the Friendly’s Restaurant in the Hudson Valley Mall, she worked tirelessly to make a beautiful home in the village and create memories for her family that they will never forget. She could always be counted on ‘to keep a good thought’ for everyone and anyone, and was always there to make you laugh. She loved to take long walks and spend any time she could enjoying the sun. She was proud of the life she built. She is survived by her husband Tom of 45 years; daughter, Amye Speirs of Schenectad­y; son Michael Speirs of Latham; brothers, John of Saugerties, Robert of West Camp, Glenn Stafford of Honey Brook, Pa.; sister, Priscilla Frassetto of Stony Brook; Uncle Donald and Aunt Felicia Rodriguez of Mountainsi­de, N.J., and several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., cor. of John and Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. Burial will follow in the Mt. Marion Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with social distancing and face coverings required.
