MARY B. MCGRANE

VERO BEACH, FLA.Mary B. McGrane, of Vero Beach, Fla., passed away on Friday, Dec. 25, 2020 at home. (No Covid) She was born in New York, N.Y., on Feb. 26, 1929 to Bernard and Catherine Farrelly. Mary arrived in Kingston, N.Y., in 1949 to pursue her education in the eld of Nursing. She attended and graduated from the Benedictine School of Nursing, graduating in 1952. She made and maintained many lifetime friendships with fellow nurses. On July 12, 1953 she married John F. McGrane in Congers, N.Y. They were married for 65 years until his death in February 2019. For many years she worked as a registered nurse at Benedictine Hospital and also worked for many years doing Private Duty Nursing. Mary was an avid reader her entire life. She and her husband also loved to travel. She was also a woman of strong faith and was very proud of her Irish heritage. She and her husband both retired in 1992 and headed to Vero Beach, Fla., and made many friends and many wonderful memories. Besides being preceded in death by her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Kathleen E. Merritt. Survivors include her daughter, Cassandra Clark (Robert) of Riverview, Fla.; sons, John Jr. (Lori) of Weeki Wachee, Fla., Kevin (Robin) of Vero Beach, Fla., and Steven of Kingston, N.Y.; and granddaughter, Katherine (Kaiti) McGrane of Kingston, N.Y. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Kingston, N.Y., at a later date.
