SAUGERTIES-Floyd M. Burgher, Sr., 88, of West Camp died Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 (his 63rd Wedding Anniversar­y) at the Northern Dutchess Hospital. Born Oct. 7, 1932 in Lanesville he was the son of the late Peter and Esther Burger. A Veteran of the U.S. Navy and 156 Field Artillery, New York Army National Guard, he retired as an electricia­n at Bard College. He was formerly employed by Knaust Brothers, Ostoyic Electric, and for many years at Brink’s American Service Station on Malden Ave. in the Village of Saugerties. Survivors include his wife, the former E. Betty Brink; a son, Colonel (Retired) Floyd M. Burgher, Jr. of Glasco; a daughter, Roxanne and her husband, Victor Churchill of Saugerties; two granddaugh­ters: Jessie and Jaime Churchill both of Saugerties; and numerous brothers-inlaw, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by a daughter-in-law, Beverly Ann Chick-Burgher, and his siblings: Mildred (Bishop) Wager, James, Clarence and Clement Burger, and Katharine Drescher. A celebratio­n of life will be held at Pheasant Run Farm when it is safe to do so. In lieu of owers donations can be made in his name to the New Saugerties Animal Shelter Building Project.
