HURLEY-Kathleen F. (Gibbons) Washington, 84, of Hurley died Wednesday afternoon Jan. 13, 2021 at the Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilita­tion Center. Born Jan. 29, 1936 in Yonkers, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Anna (Duff) Gibbons. Kathleen attended the Academy of Saint Ursula and worked for IBM as a secretary. An avid reader, Kathleen had a generous heart and found peace in helping those in need. She was a member of the Kevin Barry Irish Club. Kathleen is survived by her sister, Anne Marie Gibbons; her brothers, Christophe­r Gibbons, Eugene Gibbons and Lawrence Gibbons. She was proud of her family of 26 nieces and nephews and many grand-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predecease­d by her husband, Thomas G. Washington; brothers, Joseph Gibbons, James Gibbons and John C. Gibbons and sadly, earlier on the same day Kathleen passed away, her sister, Betty Gibbons also passed away. Funeral arrangemen­ts are under the guidance of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Smith Avenue, Kingston. www.jvleahyfh. com Visitation will be held at the funeral home for both Kathleen and Betty on Tuesday, Jan. 19th from 4 to 6 p.m. A funeral procession will form at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mask are required and social distancing may limit the capacity of the funeral home and church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for both sisters at 11 a.m. at Saint Joseph’s Church. Burial will be together in Saint Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of owers, memorial contributi­ons can be made to Catholic Charities, 6 Adams Street, Kingston, N.Y. 12401.
