NEW PALTZ– Theodore G. Daley, 91, of New Paltz, passed away on Monday Jan. 18, 2021 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Newburgh April 29, 1929, a son of the late Samuel Daley and Alice Butts. Ted was a Private in the U.S. Army and served from the years 1946-1948 with the Co. A 17th Infantry Division in Korea in World War II. After his discharge he met and married the love of his life, Margaret Bates of Wappingers Falls. They were married for 67 loving years, had two children, four grandchild­ren, and ve great-grandchild­ren. Aside from his family, his whole life was devoted to the betterment of the members of Teamsters Local 445, of which he was the principal ofcer until his retirement. He remained in contact with many members until his death. Ted was a life member of Post 686 Veterans of Foreign Wars for 25 years and as many years a member of the Teamsters Local 445 Retirees Club. He was a member of eight brothers and sisters in his family, who have predecease­d him. Ted is survived by his daughter, Karen Barnhart (Robert) of Tillson; his son, Theodore S. Daley (Patricia Sullivan Daley) of Millbrook; also, four grandchild­ren, Vanessa Daley Vogt (David) of Tillson, Theodore S. Daley, Jr., (ancé Sandi Kantoniak) of Beacon, Kristofer Barnhart (Andrea) of Tillson, and Robin Daley (Dulce) of Beacon. Ted enjoyed his ve great-grandchild­ren, Jaiden, Dylan, and Kailin Barnhart, as well as Zander and Kyra Vogt. Ted always believed that the epitome of life was being a grandparen­t.Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday 3 to 6 p.m. at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. At 5:30 p.m. Thursday the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 686 will conduct military services. His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Charles Cemetery, Gardiner, N.Y.
