MARY E. JACOBI
RED HOOK- Mary E. Jacobi, 93, of Bergeneld, N.J., passed away on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021 at The Baptist Nursing Home in Rhinebeck, N.Y. Born on July 29, 1927, in Teaneck, N.J.; she was the daughter of the late Mathew and Helen Kelley Clarke. Mary married Herbert Jacobi on Sept. 3, 1949 and he predeceased her on May 5, 1988. Mary graduated from Teaneck High School in Teaneck, N.J. For many years, Mary worked as a bank teller with PNC Bank in Tenay, N.J., and retired at the age of 75. You would often see Mary attending to her plants and owers. She enjoyed crocheting and made many beautiful blankets. In her Golden Years, Mary traveled throughout the United States and visited Mexico, Italy, Switzerland, and Ireland. Mary was very proud of her Irish heritage and often quoted her mother’s Irish sayings. She is survived by her two sons, Joseph and Cheryl Jacobi of Red Hook, N.Y., and George and Susan Jacobi of Boones Mill, Va.; a sister, Ellen Wickersheim of Hackensack, N.J.; her grandchildren, Mathew Jacobi, Christina Jacobi, Lauren and Bobby DeAngelis, Kelly and David Rock, Joseph and Taylor Dier, and Keri Dier; her great-grandchildren, Logan, Jillian, Daniel, Gavin, Beckett, Calli, and Lexi; her son-in-law, Kevin Dier of Craryville, N.Y.; along with extended family and friends. A daughter, Elaine Dier, along with her siblings, Mathew, Betty, Ann, Catherine, Grace, Thomas, and Mike predecease her. Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Christopher’s Church, Red Hook, N.Y. Burial will be at St. Sylvia’s Cemetery, Tivoli. Due to Covid-19/ NYS Guidelines- masks, social distancing, & capacity limitations will be adhered too during all services.
