KINGSTON- Joseph A. Martini, 44, died unexpected­ly Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeeps­ie. Born June 17, 1976 in Kingston, he is the son of Veronica Throneburg and Max Martini. A hard worker, Joe went to work right away, getting his working papers as soon as he was of age. He worked various jobs in the area until he eventually became a Correction­s Ofcer for the Ulster County Sheriff’s Ofce. He remained there as a dedicated member until his passing. An avid New York Yankee and Giants fan, he truly enjoyed working on and restoring vehicles. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Emerald Guard Motorcycle Club. Joe truly enjoyed spending time with his children rebuilding a 2013 Dodge Challenger and 2011 Jeep. Surviving in addition to his parents are his children, Brandon and Arianna Martini along with their mother Tracy Dart; his ancée, Valerie Myers of Kingston; and his sister, Deborah Martini of Kingston. Several aunts and cousins also survive. In his earlier years, Joe was active in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America program locally. Through the program, he met his Big Brother Charles Hamilton. Charlie always remained a big part of Joe’s life. Cremation and memorial arrangemen­ts are under the guidance of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Smith Avenue, Kingston. www.jvleahyfh.com. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Face coverings are required and social distancing may limit the capacity inside the funeral home. A funeral procession will form Friday 10 a.m. at the funeral home and proceed to the Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum Complex for brief prayers and Sheriff Department Honors.
