Volvo brings SUVs to a new level with hybrid XC90
We love a Volvo in the garage, it makes everyone happy.
When considering luxury SUVs, there is only one place to look — Volvo. As a current XC60 leaseholder, I can attest that the Volvo SUV is a great all-around utility vehicle. When it comes to thirdrow needs or extra storage capacity, the XC90 rises to the top as the flagship for the Swedish manufacturer. Now throw a rechargeable plug-in hybrid option on top of all that, and boy do we have a magnificent-looking, magnificent-riding and efficient SUV.
Our Denim Blue XC90 Recharge Hybrid Inscription tester was a sevenpassenger dream machine. It came with miles of pure electric power and eAWD, the electric all-wheel-drive system, great for daily driving without worry of potentially hazardous road conditions.
A wool interior option could very well be my new favorite. The Bowers and Wilkins sound system for an extra $3,200 was like you were front-row at a Journey concert; well for me anyway. Heads up display, heated seats (front and rear) — can’t live without. Black Ash wood inlays and a 12.3-inch driver display were also standard.
Exterior available features include dual integrated tailpipes, 20-inch eight-spoke Black diamondcut alloy wheels and the gloriously designed front grill.
A 48-month/50,000-mile warranty is standard on the XC90 as well as complimentary factory scheduled maintenance for the first three years or 36,000 miles. This is just another token of excellence.
