AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL

BASEBALL
Kingston Youth Baseball & Softball Association: Registration now open through March 15. Offering Coed TBall (ages 3-5), Rookie Coach Pitch (6-8), Minors (9-10), Majors (11-12), Babe Ruth 13-16 & 16-18. Fees are $100 for Rookie-Coach, $125 for Minors, $150 for Majors, $75 (No work bond) for Coed T-Ball and $165 for Babe Ruth (No Work bond). The Work Bond program assesses $50 for six hours of work service per family. The bond is refunded at end of season when service is fulfilled. Player evaluations are week of April 5, with practice beginning week of April 8. Games begin week of April 24. Register at kybsa.org
Umpire Class: 6:30 p.m. March 17, 24 and 31 at the Kingston VFW, East Chester Street Bypass. Upon course completion, a New York State certification allows you to umpire high school, Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken and Little League games. BOWLING
Tournament Club: Sixth qualifier event of the season is 1 p.m. March 28 at the Bowlers Club in Saugerties. Check-in is 12:30. Bowlers will use last year’s average. There will be regular qualifying events on the last Sunday of each month leading up to the April Championship Final. All bowlers receive points for each event they participate in. 15th Annual RGS Team Tournament: March 2021 at the Saugerties Bowlers Club. 7 p.m. shift on March 20 and 1 p.m. on March 21. 5-person teams with any combination of men or women. Maximum team entering average 1125 handicap, 90 percent of 1125. Highest average from 2019-20 season will be used. Entry fee is $125 per team ($80 prize fund, $45 bowling fee). High Low Tournament: April 11 at the Saugerties Bowlers Club. 12:30 p.m. check-in; starts at 1 p.m.; 4 games across 8 lanes. Brackets and Eliminator. Highest average bowls with lowest average. Average ties decided by coin toss. Teams will be determined by drawing out of a hat. Handicap 80 percent of 440 per team. Limited to first 60 bowlers. Entry fee: $25 per person. CYCLING
Bike It! Youth Cycling Program: Offered to children ages 10-15 by the YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County 9 a.m.-noon Saturdays April 17-June 15. Each session includes instruction and a bike ride. All participants receive a Tshirt, water bottle, patch kit and bike multi-tool. Geared bikes and helmets are provided or bring your own. Starting locations vary each week. Registration fee: $50 for YMCA members, $75 for non-members. Scholarships are available. No one is turned away. Register at the Y Membership Office or visit bit.do/springbike. SOFTBALL
