COTTEKILL- Daniel Preston Lindewurth, 74, of Cottekill, N.Y., passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021, at the Northeast Center for Rehabiliti­on and Brain Injury Center in Lake Katrine. He was born in Bronx, N.Y., Jan. 11, 1947; a son of the late Herbert and Marion Still Lindewurth. Daniel had resided in Cottekill for the past 41 years. Daniel was employed as a manager for Automobile National Headquarte­rs in Mahwah, N.J., prior to his retirement. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. In addition to working for national headquarte­rs of Volkswagon, Jaguar and Ford, Dan has been a reghter, Chief, and Fire District Commission­er for the Cottekill Fire Department. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Marbletown Sportsmans Club and the Ulster County Historical Society. in addition, he was a life member of the Stone Ridge American Legion. He is survived by his wife Karen Keator, a brother in law John Keator and his wife Cheryl of New Hampshire, four nephews, Kevin Gompers, David Dannenfels­er, Michael and Bryan Lindewurth and his cousin Peggi Healy. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday morning March 25, 2021, from 10 to 11 a.m. Daniel’s funeral service will be 11 a.m. following the visitation. Rev. Arlene Dawber will ofciate.
