THOMAS T. JONES

SAUGERTIES - Thomas T. Jones, 62, of Leggs Mill Rd. died Friday, March 26, 2021, at his residence after a 3 year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Born Jan. 5, 1959 in Staten Island, he was the son of Lois Hudson Jones and the late William Jones. He was a 1977 graduate of Tottenville High School and attained an Associate Degree from the University of the State of New York. An area resident for more than 33 years, he was employed as an engineering technician at Ametek Rotron. He was a 3rd degree member of the Saugerties Knights of Columbus Council #4536. He was a member of the High Woods Sportsmans Club, where he enjoyed competitive archery. He was an Amateur Radio Operator and belonged to the Amateur Relay Radio League. His call sign is KC2DTQ. Active in Scouting for many years, he was currently serving as the Scoutmaster of Troop 135 in Glasco. He was a former Den Leader of Pack 135 and Pack 35. Tom enjoyed the outdoors; whether he was camping, hiking, kayaking, or shing, he was happy. His hobbies included tying shing ies, building and operating radio controlled model airplanes, boats and helicopters. He was a talented craftsman with the ability to create nely detailed works using a variety of materials. Besides his mother, survivors include his wife, Joan, two sons: Trevor P. and Owen G. Jones; a brother, Norman (Susan Chan) Jones; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren also survive. His Funeral Procession will form 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Corner of John and Lafayette Sts. Thence to St. Mary of the Snow where at 10 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends will be received Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Face masks and social distancing rules to be observed..
