Area business people ‘On the Move’

Rob Brown has joined Hudson Valley Credit Union as vice president of branch administra­tion, with responsibi­lity for the credit union’s 20 branches.

Brown brings with him a wealth of experience overseeing large branch networks for Key Bank and M&T, as well as eight years as a business banking regional manager for Westcheste­r and Rockland Counties with both Citizens and Chase.

Brown holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and economics from Manhattan College – Riverdale and is a graduate of Columbia University’s Executive Leadership Developmen­t Program. He’s been an active volunteer with both Habitat for Humanity and Junior Achievemen­t.

Monica LaClair will join Pine Plains School District as the assistant superinten­dent for business.

LaClair will officially join the district on July 1. She will be replacing Michael Goldbeck, who is retiring.

LaClair comes to the district with a background in school finance, having most recently served in the same role in the Onteora Central School District.

She is a graduate of the University of Rochester, with a bachelor of science degree in economics, and from SUNY Albany, with a master of science degree in accounting.

Crystal Oakes, director of Plant and Tax for Central Hudson, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Benedictin­e Health Foundation.

Oakes is a current board member of the Rondout Valley Scholarshi­p Fund and past board member of the Southlands Foundation.

Oakes earned a bachelor’s of science degree in accounting from Binghamton University. She lives in Kingston with her husband, Randy, and daughters, Katie and Kayla.
