Ulster County has been allotted its second-highest weekly supply of COVID-19 vaccines this week, according to Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan.

During a Facebook live stream event Tuesday, Ryan said that the state has allotted 6,770 vaccines to the Ulster County Health Department, pharmacies, and other healthcare facilities.

In addition, Ryan said, 1,000 doses a day are being administered at a state-run facility at the Ulster County Fairgrounds in New Paltz.

On average, Ryan said, medical personnel at the county’s site at the Hudson Valley Mall are administering about 2,000 doses on a given day that it is open.

In early March, the county received 7,040 doses of the coronavirus vaccine, 3,340 to the Department of Health that County plus another 3,700 that the state shipped directly to pharmacies and other nongovernmental distribution sites.

Ryan said this week’s allotment comes as the state has expanded the eligibility for vaccinations to adults over 30. Next week, that age limit will drop to 16.
