CATSKILL- Vera M. Wager, 79, of Old Kings Rd. died Monday, April 5, 2021, at the Northern Dutches Hospital, Rhinebeck. Born May 10, 1941 in Saugerties she was the daughter of the late Charles and Philomena Winters. For over 30 years she was employed as the head cook at the Grandview Elementary School in Catskill. She was also working part time at Eden Park/The Pines Nursing Home in Catskill, NY as a front desk employee before her retirement. Vera was an active member of the 1st Baptist Church of Saugerties where she taught Sunday School and was active as a mentor with the Pioneer Girls. She later attended the First Baptist Church of Rhinebeck, NY and continued her active service for the Lord. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Harry, two sons: Harry, Jr., of Saugerties and Lance (Charlene) of Dover, Del.; a sister, Charlotte Winters and a brother, Steven (Lorraine) Winters both of Saugerties; three grandchild­ren: Elizabeth Wager, Emily (Daeshawn) Rose and Benjamin (Eileen) Wager. She was predecease­d by her brothers: Michael and Charles Winters, and a grandson, Joshua Wager. Her Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc., Corner of John and Lafayette Sts. Saugerties. Friends will be received Thursday 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will follow in the Dimock Cemetery, Dimick, Pa. Face coverings and social distancing rules to be observed.
