• A staged reading of “Charlie’s Birds,” a comedy by Robert Cessna, will kick off Performing Arts of Woodstock’s new season on Saturday, July 3, at 7 p.m. at the Mescal Hornbeck Community Center, 56 Rock City Road, Woodstock. • The Hurley Heritage Museum will reopen for visits and tours on Saturday, July 10, from noon to 4 p.m. with a reception. Walking tours of Historic Main Street will take place at 1 and 3 p.m. Tours cost $5. Meet in front of museum for tours; reservations are advised. Exhibits at the museum include its permanent exhibits as well as continuing ones. There also will be an art and antiques sale in the museum’s front garden. Museum hours after opening day will be

• Richard’s Rhinecliff Acoustic Show returns to the Morton Memorial Library & Community House, 82 Kelly St., Rhinecliff, on Friday, July 16 from 8 to 10:30 p.m. The event will featured Karl Allweier, Rick & Marilyn, Todd Young, Paul Tryon & Maxx and Harmony Grits. • City of Kingston municipal buildings are open. Employees and visitors no longer will have to undergo health screenings to enter city buildings. Unvaccinated persons still have to wear face masks.

• The Ulster County Fair will be held Aug. 3-8 at the county fairgrounds, 249 Libertyville Road, New

• The Ulster County Pool Complex, 241Libertyville Road, New Paltz, will open on the weekend of July 4 and will remain open until Labor Day on Sept. 7.

• The Bardavon in Poughkeepsie and the Ulster Performing Arts Center in Kingston are to reopen this summer. Go to bardavon.org for upcoming shows.

• The Hudson Valley Garlic Festival will take place Saturday, Oct. 2, and Sunday, Oct. 3, at Cantine Field in Saugerties.

• Coach House Players’ upcoming Annual Variety Show will take place July 10, 11, 17 and 18 at 2 p.m. indoors at the Coach House, 12 Augusta St., Kingston, for fully vaccinated audiences. • Happy to Help Food Pantry is located at St. James United Methodist Church, 35Pearl St., Kingston. The food pantry is only open on Sundays, from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Participants are asked to follow COVID procedures by wearing masks, bringing in their own bags, entering through the Fair Street entrance, and observe social distancing. The food pantry does NOT deliver food.

• The People’s Place Food Pantry is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 17 St. James

• The People’s Place Community Café is open and free to all Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., serving continental breakfast and lunch.

• The People’s Place Bounty Table, located just outside the doors, offers free produce, breads, baked goods, dairy items and proteins.

The items change daily and are first come, first serve during business hours, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• The People’s Place Thrift Store and Boutique has reopened. Hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.

• The Highland Public

Library is open with limited services. Hours are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2-6 p.m.; and Saturdays, noon to 2 p.m. Masks are required, and the number of people allowed in at one time will be limited. • The Rosendale Library has opened its doors to people wanting to browse the collections in person, and those wishing to use the computers. Mask wearing at all times is required while inside the building.

• The Hurley and West Hurley libraries have reopened. Patrons may browse the shelves, use the computers, fax materials and reserve items in an online catalog. Furniture has been rearranged for social distancing, and the libraries are offering hand sanitizer and wipes for computers. Returned books will be quarantined before re-entering circulation. All patrons must wear masks and maintain social distance, and each building is limiting capacity. Both libraries still are offering curbside borrowing, and e-books and streaming remain available.

• The Town of Esopus Library is open for browsing and one-hour computer use. Items can be picked up at the circulation desk or returned in the outdoor dropbox or at the circulation desk. Reservations are not required for any services. Masks must be worn inside the building. • The Morton Memorial Library & Community House in Rhinecliff has reopened to the public. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Masks are required to enter the library and social distancing must be practiced. There is a limit of eight people in the library. Computer access will be available, with appointments preferred. • The Balsam Lake Mountain Fire Tower in Arkville has reopened its top cab to visitors.

• The Food Pantry at Trinity Lutheran Church, 72 Spring St., Kingston, is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The pantry is closed on Mondays and Fridays. Wear a mask when picking up a bag of groceries at the door.

• The city of Kingston’s playgrounds have reopened with health and safety rules.

• The Dutchess County Department of Motor Vehicles, 22Market St., Poughkeepsie, has resumed in-person license, permits and non-driver ID transactions by appointment only. • The town of Ulster transfer station is open.

• Kingston’s Emergency Food Hotline has added a website, www.kingstonemergencyfood.com. To provide meals and groceries to those in need across the Kingston City School District, the Emergency Food hotline, (888) 316-0879, was created to streamline the intake of requests.

• The Samuel Museum of

• The Lions Club Mini-Park located at South Parsonage Street and North Park Road in Rhinebeck is closed until further notice.

• The Dutchess County Office for the Aging prepares hot meals that are delivered to home-bound seniors Monday to Friday. During the COVID-19 outbreak, New York state has temporarily expanded eligibility for the home-delivered meals program for seniors.
