Kingston tops Red Hook for first win of season
KINGSTON, N.Y. » Kingston High School notched its first boys’ swimming victory of the season Wednesday, defeating Red Hook 89-64 in an Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association meet.
“It was a fun meet because they have a team the size of our team,” said Kingston coach Chris Sammons.
The Tigers have nine individuals, while Red Hook has eight.
Six of the Tigers won individual events: Henry Shannon (200-yard freestyle), Mason Crowley (50 free), Phil Lettre (butterfly), Ryan Goode (100 free), Mark Lekaj (backstroke) and Andrew Sammons (breaststroke). Owen Daniels led Red Hook in its season opener, winning the 500 free and the individual medley.
Kingston, which snapped a four-meet losing streak, is home against Roosevelt on Monday, Dec. 20.
