Four area residents — Kami Rose Miller of Kingston, Rosalind Bendell and Reed Joseph Freer, both of New Paltz; and Shane Michael Benziger of Rhinebeck — were named presidential scholars at Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y., for the spring semester.
Students earn presidential scholar status by achieving a grade point average of 3.8 or higher.
Miller is a senior majoring in biology. Bendell is a senior majoring in mechanical engineering. Freer is a sophomore majoring in electrical engineering. Benziger is a senior majoring in aerospace engineering/mechanical engineering.
Six area residents — Baylee Elizabeth Szekeres of Kingston, Tyler Steven Zambito of Ulster Park, Brendan Gardner of West Park, Jason R. Perez of Stone Ridge, Isabelle V. Donohue of Napanoch, and Courtney Marie Sherman of Catskill — were named to the dean’s list at Clarkson University for the spring semester.
Students earn dean’s list status by achieving a grade point average of 3.25 to 3.79.

Three area residents — Sophie Roy of Woodstock, Dahlia Rosen of Accord and Catherine Scaduto of New Paltz — were named to the dean’s list at the University of Vermont in Burlington for the spring semester.
Students earn dean’s list status by achieving a grade point average of 3.0 and higher and ranking in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
