Ulster records two deaths as active cases drop
KINGSTON, N.Y. » Ulster County reported Thursday two new COVID-19 related deaths and a drop in active cases, according to the government’s coronavirus dashboard.
Dutchess has reported a significant single-day drop with a steady dive for five days in a row.
Hospitalizations in Dutchess and Ulster counties rose to 47 as of Tuesday, May 31. Thirty-four of those hospitalizations were in Dutchess County with 13 in Ulster.
Ulster County reported Thursday that it had 271 active COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, June 1, or 47 fewer than the 318 reported on Tuesday, May 31.
On Thursday, the county reported two new deaths, putting the total at 384 since the pandemic began in March 2020.
The county said it has had 43,203 cases of COVID-19 with 42,548 recoveries.
Dutchess County reported Thursday that COVID-10 cases have been steadily declining.
The county reported it had 414 cases as of Tuesday, May 31; 496 on Monday, May 30; 554 on Sunday, May 29; 619 on Saturday, May 28; and 626 on Friday, May 27.
Dutchess County has recorded a total of 69,269 COVID-19 cases since the outset of the pandemic.
