Hospitaliz­ations fall in Ulster, Dutchess

KINGSTON, N.Y. » COVID19-related hospitaliz­ations in the region have fallen off significan­tly since the state Health Department reported them last on Thursday, June 2.

Hospitaliz­ations in Dutchess and Ulster counties have dropped from 44 reported on that date to 28 on Saturday, June 4.

Hospitaliz­ations were at 23 in Dutchess County while at 5 in Ulster County.

Meanwhile, Ulster County’s online coronaviru­s dashboard reported that it had 260 active COVID-19 cases on Sunday, June 5, down 18 from the 278 reported on Saturday, June 3. The county said it had 259 active cases on Friday, June 3, and 265 on Thursday, June 2.

On Monday, the county reported no new deaths, leaving the total at 384 since the pandemic began in March 2020.

In all, Ulster County has had a total of 43,417 confirmed cases with 42,773 recoveries.

Dutchess County’s online dashboard reported Monday an increase of 29 cases from 433 on Friday, June 3, to 462 on Saturday,

June 4. Dutchess also reported an increase of 27 cases from Thursday to Friday, 406 to 433.

Dutchess County reported Monday no new deaths, leaving the pandemic-long total at 662.

Dutchess County has recorded a total of 69,643 confirmed COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began.
