Mount Academy sweeps Onteora, stays undefeated

Mount Academy’s girls volleyball team kept its perfect record intact with Monday’s 3-0 victory over Onteora.

The Eagles improved to 12-0 with the triumph over winless (0-11) Onteora. Mount Academy swept to a 25-6, 25-13, 25-3 win.

Among the top players for Mount Academy were Jacqui Maendel (six aces, 16 assists, three digs), Shoshana Hine (10 aces, two kills), Rayan Bazeley (six kills, two aces), Gina O’Connell (five kills, two blocks), Lia Johnson (four kills, three aces) and April Hofer (four kills).

Warwick 3, Kingston 1

At Kingston, the Tigers won the first set 25-17 but couldn’t maintain the momentum as Warwick (9-5) swept the last three, 26-24, 25-20, 25-11.

Kingston was led by Ryleigh Purvis (seven assists, eight service points, 12 kills, one block, nine digs), Alanna Rolph (two aces, five service points, seven kills, one dig), Cici Chinea (five service points, two digs), Nadya Gorton (10 assists, two aces, two service points, one kill, three digs), Gabriella Wilkins (two aces, nine service points, one kill) and Danielle Noonan (12 digs).

Marlboro 3, Saugerties 2

At Saugerties, the Dukes outlasted the host Sawyers 22-25, 2517, 27-25, 12-25, 15-6.

Madi Callahan (two aces, 11 kills, five digs, 13 blocks), Victoria Maher (seven aces, 10 kills), Jaedyn Lunsford (two kills, 20 assists) and Kalista Birkenstoc­k (two aces, 19 digs) led the Dukes.

Molly Boek (11 kills, three aces, three blocks), Izzy Cavallaro (11 assists, four aces), Madalyn Dodig (15 kills, three aces) and Keiran Hinchey (six assists, two aces) paced the Sawyers.
