RITA QUICK

-

Rita “Buddy” Quick, 97 years old, a lifelong Kingston resident, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 27th, 2022, at TenBroeck Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born November 24, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Clayburne and Ruth (Schermerhorn) Morris and the wife of the late Harold Quick. She was employed for many years by Colonial Knitwear, from which she retired. She was happiest when surrounded by her extensive family and her canine baby girls, Sing Toy and Nicki. If she was invited to an event – a dinner party, a holiday get – together, a christening, a school concert, a barbecue, etc – she was attending and our “family photographer” would have her camera in hand as evidenced by the numerous albums she filled over the years! In addition to photography, another favorite pastime of Rita’s was walking, which she did until she was in her eighties. As a nondriver, Rita loved walking all over Kingston, visiting her many siblings and their families as well as friends, while enjoying the sites and sounds of the City she always loved. Rita is survived by her grandson, Jared Legg, his wife Susan and her great grandchildren, Anna and Isaac Legg of Warrenton Virginia; She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who along with their families, she formed close, loving relationships throughout the years. Rita was abundantly loved and will be greatly missed! Rita was predeceased by her daughters Sheila Quick and Collette (Quick) Legg, great grandson Samuel Legg, brothers Jack (Josephine) Morris, Albert “Abby” (Josephine) Morris, Peter (Rae) Kearney, and sisters Grace Ferraro, Ann “Nan” (George) Loughran, Agnes (Bill) Loughran and Evelyn “Teelee” (Pat) Tiano. Family and friends will be received at the Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston on Saturday, November 12th between 10am – 11am. The Memorial Service will take place at 11am with burial of ashes immediately following at the Hurley Cemetery, 91 Zandhoek Road, Hurley.
