Lester “Bud” Finch, 93, died Wednesday November 2, 2022 at ArchCare, Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck. Born April 15, 1929 in Kingston, he is the son of the late Lester and Eleanora Finch. Lester attended St. Peter’s School in Kingston and graduated in 1944. Lester went on to attend Kingston High School and graduated in 1948. Lester lived in Chicago for a few years, but most of his life was spent in the Kingston area. He was well known in uptown Kingston, where he was a frequent staple at Deising’s, Nekos, and Artie’s Bar. He would spend many hours at the Hudson Valley Mall, when it was full of stores. Lester was a huge movie fan, he could tell you about any movie made during his lifetime-his memory was outstandin­g. His favorite baseball team was the Chicago Cubs. His final years were spent in the Ferncliff Nursing Home where he was admired by the staff, was always treated with respect and received excellent care. Vistors to the nursing home got to know Lester quite well and he will surely be missed at Ferncliff. Surviving are his brother Robert W. Finch, niece Robyn Finch (Tom Collins), nephew Josh Finch (Kathie Finch), a great nephew, Zachary Prosser and great nieces, Mackenzie Prosser, Marin Prosser, Rebecca Finch and Ruby Finch. In addition to his parents, a sister Doris Finch predecease­d him. Cremation and memorial arrangemen­ts are under the guidance of the Joseph V.
