JOAN E. SINGER

Joan Egan Singer, 91, of Kingston died Tuesday November 8, 2022 at the home of her daughter with her family, and her loving caretaker, Cecilia by her side. Born June 25, 1931 in Kingston she was the daughter of the late Carl B. and Elizabeth (DuBois) Stauble. A graduate of the Academy of Saint Ursula and the Benedictine School of Nursing, Joan was a registered nurse at the Benedictine Hospital. Her career of over forty years included working in the operating room, obstetrics, labor and delivery and private duty. In retirement, Joan was employed by the Children’s Home of Kingston with Dr. Lefkowitz and a member of the Ladies AOH. Surviving are two daughters, Lisa Nee and her husband Matt and Daria Egan; her step children, Daniel Singer and his wife Robin, Andrew Singer; grandchildren, Eric Singer and his wife Chrissy, Lisa Singer, Kara Singer, Jason Weinstein and his wife Fay and Deborah Weinstein. Six great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her husbands, James Egan and Melvin Singer; her sons, Kiernan and Brian Egan; a step-daughter Livia Singer and her husband Joel Weinstein; her brother Carl Stauble. A funeral procession will form Saturday 9:00 AM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM at Saint Mary’s Church. Burial will follow in Saint Mary’s Cemetery. A Nightingale Service will be held Friday evening 4:45 PM at the funeral home.
