Saugerties Obstructing governmental administration:
Christa Barley, 45, and Krystal Barley, 38, of Lafayette Street in the village, were arrested by Saugerties police at about 10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13. Christa Barley and Krystal Barley were each charged with obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors. Police responded to Lafayette Street at about 10:07 p.m. Monday for a report of a teenager experiencing a mental health crisis. The complainant told police the teenager had been making suicidal statements and threatened an adult at the residence with physical harm. As an officer was preparing to transport the juvenile to the hospital for evaluation, Christa Barley allegedly opened the door to the police car and attempted to remove the teenager. As officers attempted to arrest Christa Barley, she allegedly began to physically fight with them. Seeing that her wife was being arrested, Krystal Barley grabbed one of the officers by his arm in an attempt to pull the officer away, police said. Both were released with tickets for Saugerties Village Court on Feb. 27. Two teenagers at the residence were taken to the HealthAlliance Hospital for mental health evaluations.
Wawarsing
Criminal contempt: Antonio Vega III, 37, of Ellenville, was arrested by state police at Wawarsing at 1:45 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, and charged with the felony of criminal contempt (with a prior conviction for aggravated/criminal contempt within five years) and with the misdemeanor of criminal mischief (damage to property). Vega was sent to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
